Hank here with my thoughts on the cad Cx1 when you purchase the cad cx1 you Get a USBC to usba cable and Documentation now I purchased the cad Cx1 on Prime day for $27 but the retail Price is $34.99 the reason I purchased it is I've Been looking for a more modern updated Audio interface that is sub $50 to Replace the tried andrue bearinger um2 Build wise the cad cx1 is nothing to Write home about the device is Tiny and cheap when it comes to the case It is super super lightweight and even The inserts where the rubber feet should Be are minus the rubber feet however the Knobs do seem sturdy on the front you Get one combo Jack you get the gain knob For that Jack you get a/ quarin Headphone jack you get the volume Monitor knob and there are two LEDs one For 48 volts phantom power and the other One for bus power on the back you get a Slide switch on off for 48 volts phantom Power a USBC port and line out right Left RCA jacks specs wise the cad cx1 Has a frequency response of 20 HZ to 20 Khz a resolution and Sample rate of 24bit 96 khz a dynamic range of 118 DB Aeed an EIN of minus 110 DBU aeed and a Gain range of 50 DB right now I'm on the Road nt1 going into the audio interface Recording in OBS I won't manipulate the Levels of this video so you can hear the

Difference between using a condenser Microphone which is much much easier to Drive and the test we're going to do With the sure sm7b this is my second Attempt at recording this video and in The earlier video I tested High Impedance headphones I'll just cut to The Chase and say yes it can drive Highend pedance headphones can this be a Spoken word only option for the Bearinger um2 because there's no Instrument port on this you couldn't use It for music let's put the Shure sm7b in Line and find out now I'm on the sh sm7b At 3:00 now I'm on the sh sm7b and it is Totally maxed out but listen to that Preamp Noise and I am leaning in and definitely Not hitting the level I was hitting with The road nt1 cuz it's much much easier To drive being a condenser microphone so If we back off just a little bit we get Rid of a lot of that hiss but it just Can't drive the sm7b to an acceptable Range let's compare that to to the Bearinger um2 now I have the bearinger Um2 maxed out and it is getting up there Right in the vicinity of where I would Want to be so this is as is recording I'm not going to boost and post I'm not Going to do anything with the audio file And the um2 is clearly in my opinion It's clearly louder than the cx1 outside Of the preamp noise you can hear my AC
Unit running and computer fan running Clearly Seems to come in much louder than the Cx1 I'm going to switch back to the cx1 And to the road Nt1 so you can actually hear me for my Final thoughts back on the cad cx1 with The road nt1 the only way I would Recommend the cad cx1 is if you have an Easyto Drive condenser microphone you Only need it for spoken word Applications and you just don't want to Pay more than $35 for an audio interface Otherwise I couldn't recommend this There's just too many holes in it as far As the 50 DB a again I really didn't Feel like I was getting all 50 DB a Again especially when the stepping from 8 to 9 to 10 is just egregious with Preamp noise I own the cad CX2 and it's with a friend of mine right Now who does voiceover work and I don't Recall having any issues using that Audio interface even though the specs Read the same from what I can gather However those are my thoughts on the cad Cx1 simply not going to be able to Replace the tried and true bearinger um2 The baringer um2 is still the super Lowbudget audio interface Champion stay Tuned for more reviews coming up very Soon as always thank you
