IMPROVE Any Audio Interface – Tonor TA20 Mic Booster Review

Hang here with my review of the toner Ta20 inside the box of course you get The toner ta20 and you get some Documentation the device has a list Price of 74.99 US Dollars however I was Able to find it for 54.99 on Amazon Build wise the tonor ta20 has an all Metal body on the bottom of the device You get four big rubber feet to help Keep a little bit of grip on the desk And on the front you have a locking Connector for the XLR cable also on the Front of the device you have a LED light Indicator to let you know that 48 volts Is passing from your audio interface to The toner ta20 and this thing is a tank There's lots of heft to the device which Lets you know it is very very well Constructed I owned a cloud lifter cl1 In This heavyweight build puts me in That mind set of a comparison with that Device when it comes to Specs the toner Ta20 ironically enough delivers 20 DB of Clean Gain with a signal to noise ratio Of 88 plus or minus 1 DB and an Impressive tonal harmonic Distortion of Less than .022 percent in order to test the device I put inline the Behringer Um2 paired with the Shure sm7b I tried To reach the desired level in OBS that I Wanted to hit with the Behringer by Itself and then I used the toner ta20 Inline reaching the desired level that I

Wanted and I measured the noise floor of Each of those results and I'm gonna put It on the screen right now As you can see the ta20 performed very Well using this device has allowed me to Back off the gain on the um2 and only Push that preamp at a moderate level Which decreased the noise floor thus it Makes any audio interface in my Collection usable with the Shure sm7b Reaching the desired Audio Level while Recording instead of having to do it in Post-production on the pros this thing Is built superbly I love the build Quality of this device I've tested the Device with multiple microphones and I Have yet to notice any difference in the Sound of the microphone and most Importantly this means every audio Interface I have on my desk many of Which can only provide up to 40 or 45 DB A gain that makes them usable with the Shure sm7b the only con that I can think Of for this device is that you will need To add an extra XLR cable level to your Setup I have been toying around with the Idea of strapping the ta20 to the side Of my boom arm using velcro straps I Noticed in a lot of videos that I Watched people were attaching it to Their mic stand or boom arm so that may Be something to look into I've also Heard of people mounting it to the Bottom of their desk but that would

Require a little bit of modification and I'm not willing to do that with the Extra cabling it's easy to position the Device off to the corner of your desk And out of the way I'm sure there are a Ton of budget mic boosters out there but I doubt any of them have the build Quality that you're gonna get with the Ta20 my experience with mic boosters is Limited to the fat head and the cloud Lifter cl1 and now the tonor t820 which I have no trouble recommending if you're In the need for a heavy duty well Constructed acted mic booster that you Can use with any of your lower level Audio interfaces in order to get enough Gain Clean Gain to drive even the Shure Sm7b I want to thank toner for sending This mic booster to me for the purpose Of this review they had no say-so in the Review and they didn't get to see the Review beforehand whenever I review Products whether they're sent to me or I Buy them the review is the review I Never make concessions because someone Has sent me something I honestly enjoy The toner ta20 I think it's well Constructed I think you'll see other Reviews around the internet that would Back up my claims so I appreciate toner For sending this over really cool Product link to their website down in The description plus my affiliate link For the amazon.com listing if you want
