Don’t necessarily need the best tools And that money can buy you don’t need The 900 microphone to start you can Build up to that but you will need Something decent and in fact many Podcasters have managed to get by on Less than a hundred dollars for new Shows so let me show you how and I teach All of this inside my podcasting profits Secrets ebook and I also teach this with My signature program the podcast launch Strategy Mastermind if you want more Details about that click the links below And we can jump on a call and we can Talk about how podcasting can be a fit For you as well Let’s deep dive The most essential podcasting tools Some of the most important tools that You will need to get for your podcast And you don’t need to buy any of these Brand new although I recommend it Because they come with warranties you Can go on Craigslist or e-backing Ebay Um you get a huge discount on used Podcasting equipment Now don’t get me wrong though a thousand Dollar setup will sound much different Than a hundred dollar setup so let’s be Real about that and there’s a reason why Many podcasts sound so good and that’s Because they use the right kind Of equipment and tools and some of those Exceptional high production sounding

Podcasts Come with a dollar attached to that they Become into the expensive Whatever that looks like for you area The first thing we’re going to need as a Beginner is a microphone And you’re probably wondering why do I Need to spend money on a microphone Where my laptop or my phone has got a Built-in microphone or you’re probably Thinking you can use your phone’s Microphone and you know what you’re Absolutely right You can But how do you want your listeners to Have a listening experience Do you want to have a clearer sound so You sound more credible More professional and your listeners Have a wonderful experience So don’t make it about you make it about Your listeners that are going to be Listening to your voice and your words Of impact Now if you’re really strapped for cash You can use your computer or your Phone’s in inbuilt microphones to get You started just get started However just don’t expect professional Quality audio And And honestly you know try it now and and Check it out and and see how it sounds See how it sounds without a microphone

See how it sounds with a microphone You need to be clear on what your Listening experience is going to be for Your potential listeners How do you want to present yourself how Do you want to Brand yourself how do you Want to start your podcast do you want To sound do you want to start it with Just your laptop microphone where it’s Not going to sound as crisp or clear and You’re potentially not going to be able To build your audience very quickly or Do you want to start with a reasonable Priced good quality microphone that’s Going to make A difference You need to make that decision early on So if you go and try Your laptop audio and then plug a Microphone in and try that wow you’re Going to see a difference and you’re Going to know and feel exactly How you want your audience to listen to Your words of impact in your podcast as Well Now if you’re really Starting your podcast and you want to Sound professional consider buying a Good microphone my personal favorite the One that I love and I’ve tried a few is The Blue Yeti the one that I’m hearing The here using in this video podcast I love the Blue Yeti I love the Different settings on there I like the

Sound that it actually gets You can start with an Audio Technica you Can start with a sang Samsung a USB Microphone And when I say USB microphone these are The ones that can plug into your laptop And you can’t go wrong with a lot of the Amazon microphones as well I prefer to go brand new because I like The warranty with them And a lot of the microphones like the Audio Technica and the Samsung Q2u the USB microphone they’re around They’re under a hundred dollars And you can buy them online And the good thing about usb microphones Is that they can they can just plug in Directly to your computer so you’re able To record straight away Sometimes the Blue Yeti will need some Calibrating on your laptop And you can research that find a Tutorial on YouTube there’s lots of them And there’s no need to install any Software with a USB microphone it’s as Simple as that your local sound and Audio store has probably got a Podcasting section because it is just so Popular Another thing and you’ve probably seen It on social media is the pop filter Which is normally the round filter that Goes in front of the microphone That’s called a pop filter and another

Thing that’ll make your your audio sound Good is a pop filter And basically what that does it filters Out all the plosive sounds and con from Constants like And without a pod pop filter your audio Will have popping sounds Which can annoy your listeners Pretty fast So if you want to avoid all of the cost Get a pop filter and the good news is You can grab one off Amazon for around Ten dollars Now the links to all of this equipment Is in the show notes so you can actually Go and have a look and see what would be A fit for you your budget and the Projection that you want and The Listener experience you want for your Brand and your podcast When we have a microphone when we have a Podcast when we’re just beginners when We’re just standing out We’ve got to consider audio software and You need software that you can record The input from your microphone and the Good thing is you don’t need to spend Hundreds of dollars for a top of the Line digital audio workstations And there are a couple of excellent free Options that you can use on Windows Max Anything like that There’s some free Choices for many podcasters when they

First begin for your audio software The first one is audacity and you’ll Find the link to that in the show notes Audacity is a full-featured open source And cross platform audio editing Software and it may look intimidating at First but it’s very intuitive Beginners can come in with no Tech Skills and Don’t judge a book by its cover Because it is very intuitive It’s not as pretty as other software but I promise you it works exactly as Advertised you can record your entire Show on Audacity and then edit it later And if you want to add your intro and Your outro you can just do that on the Actual software And you can add various effects to your Recordings as well and if you want to Uncover everything that audacity has to Offer Please check out the links below GarageBand is another great audio Software And if you’re on a Mac then you don’t Need to look any further than GarageBand Now this awesome software comes Pre-installed on Mac computers so you Shouldn’t need to download this anymore However if for any reason you’ve lost Your copy then simply click on the the Link below and download the software And as most things

Apple GarageBand is a looker Audacity doesn’t come anywhere near its Looks but then again audacity isn’t Marketed as eye candy Garage Band on the other hand doesn’t Look as doesn’t have a beautiful Interface but it’s also fully functional And you can easily create your intros And your outros on this software So to sum it up GarageBand is user Friendly intuitive and best of all it’s Free Now there are other audio softwares like Riverside Descript you can take a look and see What is best for you your budget there’s Always free versions and paid versions The paid versions you’re obviously going To get a lot more benefits and features Really consider what you need for your Podcast Now as for graphic software you want to We want your podcast to stand out right From the sea of other podcasts so the Best way to do this is by uploading an Eye-catching podcast cover art And it’s what’s going to catch people’s Attention And if you upload a kind of meh Looking artwork there’s no one’s going To be paying attention to it so instead Have some eye-catching podcast cover art And you can use lots of graphic software Or you can actually Outsource it to a

Freelancer on Fiverr or upwork to give You a high resolution podcast cover art Branded to you in your colors and logos And you’re going to stand out from the Rest So if you want some design inspiration Go into Apple Spotify Have a look at other podcasts in your Niche and think of a way to actually Stand out yourself So for example if most of the podcast Cover are in your Niche is mostly in a Shade of blue then you may want to think About creating a cover in another color And that way when you upload your cover Art you know people’s eyes are going to Be gravitating towards your art Simply because it stands out Headphones is the other thing I’d like To really talk to you about today and You may not Um you may you may opt to not use Headphones When recording your first episode However after listening to your Recording you’ll seen soon realize that It may sound funny or different Headphones do make a difference I love The the Sony Bluetooth headphones if You’re in Australia I got these from JB Hi-Fi They’re about a hundred dollars You can go to Amazon they’ve got some Great headphones your local sound and

Audio store And If you want to hear what you sound like While you’re recording Then you better put on a good pair of Headphones You’ll be able to control your voice Your volume your speed when you’re fully Aware of how you sound and how your Audience is going to perceive your voice And it’s up to you if you want to use Over the ear headphones Or the in-ear ones Whatever floats your boat However if you have guests over at your Studio then you may want to have some Spare over-the-ear headphones as these Are obviously more hygienic And the sound is going to be consistent And obviously not everyone’s going to be Comfortable putting on headphones that Have been on someone else’s ears so Consider that if you run a podcast Studio with regular guests Another benefit to owning a good pair of Headphones is that you’ll be able to Edit your own recording much faster You’ll be able to hear everything And you can easily remove unnecessary Parts You can cut out dead air you can remove Coughing noises And ensure your headphones will be Instrumental in achieving a high quality

Podcast audio A pro tip in audio here as well Is when you record have a clear space Don’t have clunky jewelry don’t have a Drink with ice cubes in it so if you do Take a sip of water it clunks Make sure there’s nothing that you can Accidentally knock over on your podcast Desk this is going to interrupt Your podcast and leave editing At the end These are all really little Considerations but it does make a huge Impact to your audio and your editing You want your listeners to have the best Sound experience to be able to plug in Understand you correctly And you can start off with low-tech Free software and a good microphone you My friend can start your podcast For possibly under a hundred dollars Check out the links below see what is a Fit for your podcast your vision your Brand And you’ll be able to Start with confidence Start with A bit of tech A bit of A heads up on maybe other beginners that Are starting their podcast just using Their phone and the phone the microphone On their phone You’ll already be a step ahead
